Not a scholarly review of director G.W. Pabst’s film The Diary of a Lost Girl (1929) starring Louise Brooks, but instead a republishing of the original English language translation of the 1905 novel by Margarete Böhme, long out-of-print in America, that sold more than 1 million copies worldwide.

Director of the Louise Brooks Society, Thomas Gladysz, has written an introduction to the novel covering its scandalous history in Germany and America, and its relationship to the motion picture adaptation by German film director G.W. Pabst.

The edition features more than three dozen illustrative images, and is available as a trade paperback or a digital download.
