Released February 1902. / Standard 35mm spherical 1.33:1 format. / The production was shot on 15 February 1902 between Broadway, Central Park West, 61st and 62nd Streets in New York, New York. Before the film was made available for sale, another larger fire happened at Paterson, New Jersey, on 9 February 1902. This film was retitled and marketed as footage of the Paterson fire.

Synopsis: [From Edison promotional materials] This picture shows the fire at its height, the firemen playing water on the buildings, and the falling walls of one of the large stones. // Additional synopsis available in Niver-Early p. 41.

Survival status: Prints exist in the Library of Congress film archive (American Film Institute collection, and paper print collection) [35mm paper positive, 16mm reduction preservation negative, 16mm reduction preservation positive].
