Drama.

Synopsis: [?] [From The Moving Picture World]? Lincoln is first seen as a rail splitter in the country, and even then, he is a peace-maker. His life as a storekeeper and his meeting with Ann Rutledge follow. He proposes to her, and his suit is unsuccessful. She dies, and Lincoln is seen in his first great sorrow, mourning over her grave. Abe is seen debating with Douglas, and after a lapse of time, he is soon in the presidential chair. The Federal Army under Burnside is retreating towards Washington. Lincoln visits McClellan, and is cheered by the weary soldiers. Grant is placed in command of the Federal Army, and the Confederates are driven back. Many big battle scenes are shown. Lee surrenders and with the return of the decimated Federal Army Lincoln’s mind goes to the battlefield and the army of dead. The story ends when close friends of the martyred statesman read of his death and the country is thrown into mourning.
