Wilna Hervey

Born 2 October 1894 in San Francisco, California, USA,, as Wilna Webster Harvey.
Died 6 March 1979 in Manatee, Floria, USA.

Partner painter Nan Mason; together until Hervey’s death in 1979.

Wilna Hervey was born in San Francisco but grew up as an only child in an affluent family living the the greater New York, New York area. Her earliest interest was in fine arts and Wilna studied at the Art Students League in New York City.

Wilna’s film work may have begun in 1916 for Drew Comedies or for The Vitagraph Company of America. By 1920, Wilna was appearing series comedies for Betzwood Film Company, where she appeared in the Toonerville Trolley series as “the powerful Katrinka.” Soon after the demise of the Toonerville series, Wilna and and costar Dan Mason were paired for the Pop Tuttle series of two-reel comedies produced by The Paul Gerson Pictures Corporation, which were released in 1922-1923. Late in 1923 Hervey retired from motion pictures work except for a known appearance in a Three Stooges short in the 1930s.

In later years, Wilna returned to her first love and concentrated on painting in Woodstock, New York.
