Died 6 February 1966 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Married Marjorie Greenwell.

Roy Overbaugh began film work in the 1910s, shooting for Triangle Film Corporation (circa 1917) and Norma Talmadge Film Corporation (circa 1917). His most-famous cinematography work was for Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1920). He also worked for Realart Pictures Corporation (circa 1920), Famous Players-Lasky Corporation (circa 1920 through circa 1922), Famous Players-Lasky British Producers, Limited (circa 1922), Inspiration Pictures, Incorporated (1923-1924), Richard Barthelmess Productions (1925) and British National Pictures, Limited (1926).
