Famous Players Film Company production; distributed on State Rights basis. / Produced by Albert W. Hale. From the play adaptation The Prisoner of Zenda by Edward E. Rice of the novel The Prisoner of Zenda by Anthony Hope (Anthony Hope Hawkins) and Edward E. Rice. Art direction by Richard Murphy. Music score by Joseph Carl Breil. / Released 18 February 1913. / Standard 35mm spherical 1.33:1 format. / This was the first film produced by Famous Players to be released, but was shot after The Count of Monte Cristo (1913). [?] C.R. Randall may have been William R. Randall and Walter Hale may have been Alan Hale. Beckley was Hackett’s wife. All prints are believed to have been destroyed in a Paramount studio fire. [?] O’Leary-Silent credits Hugh Ford with the direction. [?] Other modern sources also credit Hugh Ford with the scenario.
