Charles Puffy began in films in Hungary as Károly Huszár in 1914. He worked in German productions throughout the early 1920s. Puffy moved to the USA in 1924, and worked for Universal Pictures Corporation in 1926. He returned to Germany with the advent of sound films in late 1928. He most visible role to modern audiences is as the club owner in Der blaue Engel (1930). He appeared in his final film in Hungary in 1938.
