This DVD-R edition has been mastered from a VHS videotape recording of an AMC cable television broadcast of a 35mm reduction print held by the George Eastman Museum film archive. The resolution level of VHS makes for a picture with a good grayscale range but blurred image details. Watchable but not good. The initial copy of this DVD-R disc we received contained many playback errors that would freeze frame the picture until the player could recover.
The film is accompanied by its original synchronized soundtrack, which was cleaned up for the AMC master.
