Mack Sennett

Born 17 January 1880 in Richmond, Québec, Canada, as Michael Sinnott.
Died 5 November 1960 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA.

Mack Sennett began his film career as an actor, and worked predominantly for Biograph Company from 1908-1912. With backing from Adam Kessel and Charles O. Baumann, Sennett established the Keystone Film Company in Edendale (Los Angeles), California, for the exclusive production of short comedy films. The company produced the first feature-length comedy film Tillie’s Punctured Romance in 1914. Control of Keystone was lost to distributor Triangle Film Corporation circa 1917.

Sennett established a new production company, Mack Sennett Comedies, in 1917.
