Reviews: [Exhibitors Herald and Motography, 9 August 1919, page ?] With action swinging from the sheep ranches and copper mines of the Northwest to Chile and thence New York, the first of the William Farnum star series published by William Fox ranks among the most thrilling and dramatic this star has appeared in. An explosion in a Chilian mine and a tense fight for mastery on the stock market are the high lights but there are a series of minor situations which not only maintain but increase interest. Through it all runs a pleasing love story — the fight of a man and woman for the happiness which two men seek to destroy. At the climax, sufficient action to carry many five-reel productions is crowded into a smashing finish. William Farnum is given a difficult role, which will add greatly to his prestige. Louise Lovely features the supporting cast. Beautiful exterior photography in the opening reels adds to the merit of production.

Survival status: The film is presumed lost.
