We have viewed all od the DVD editions but The Skin Game from this boxset and the video transfers are slightly more contrasty, with a few more visible compression artifacts, than we would prefer.
For our reviews of the individual titles in this boxset, see our pages: The Ring on home video, and The Manxman on home video.
This collection, and its companion collection of DVDs, were gathered for sale as a single box set of 14 DVDs entitled Alfred Hitchcock: The Early Years (DEL89062DVD) for the 2000 Christmas season. The entire collection, all 1379 minutes of it, sells for the fire sale price of $99.99. Not recommended by us, the films in this collection have since appeared in better-looking home video editions.
